For many years, Datacard Group has worked to protect our customers' investments in our solutions by providing new products and feature enhancements coupled with the world's best engineering support and service network. During this time, advances in technology created significant challenges for sustaining our older designs. In order to keep these solutions available to the industry, Datacard Group has updated, redesigned and enhanced our systems over many years. Our older platforms have architectures that limit Datacard Group's ability to make substantial enhancements. The OS/2 environment simply doesn't support many of the current user interface and encryption market needs. Therefore, Datacard Group has committed itself to a new vision that we call the Shop of the Future. This vision was the beginning of a complete portfolio re-design that would not only bring forward the superior quality and reliability of our older designs, but also offer the industry significant advances in cost-per-card productivity, production flexibility and cardholder data security.
These efforts culminated in the introduction of the Datacard MaxsysT card issuance system in 2004 and the MX6000T card issuance system early in 2006. These systems, along with the new Datacard MXDT card delivery system, the Datacard MXiT envelope insertion system and the Datacard SynteraT manufacturing efficiency software provide the latest technological features and maximize the efficiency and productivity for our customers. Following in May 2007, Datacard Group will introduce the Datacard MX2000T card issuance system (the replacement for the 7000 system) and the MXD Mailer (the replacement for the UltraForm Mailer).
Market acceptance of these new systems is strong. Orders for the older systems have already declined dramatically. Therefore, this announcement provides a high level overview of Datacard Group's plans to discontinue production and our strategies for ongoing support of the older systems, which include:
Datacard 9000 Series card issuance system
Datacard 9000E card issuance system
Datacard 7000 Series card issuance system
Datacard UltraFormT card delivery system
Datacard High-Speed UltraFormT Mailer card delivery system
Datacard UltraPacT envelope insertion system
All related modules and upgrades
The systems above will be referred to collectively in this announcement as Datacard Group's "Legacy Systems". While End-of-Life plans are not being announced at this time for the Datacard 500 Series card issuance system or the Datacard® PrimaFormT card delivery system, it is Datacard Group's intention to treat these systems the same as the systems listed above in terms of our End-of-Service strategy and implementation.
Datacard Group will implement a carefully planned discontinuation process over the next 8 years. By November 1, 2014, we will stop all service and support of all Legacy Systems.

End-Users and Distributors must place their final orders with Datacard Group by September 30, 2007, requesting delivery no later than October 31, 2007.
